What is the Best Method of Finding Used Cars for Sale

When looking to find a used car for sale, there are many options one can choose to help aid in their search, but which method is best?
The first and most obvious option is to look in your local paper. In the classifieds section you will find many subsections from used cars for sale, to newer cars for sale, to trucks, sport utility vehicles, and classic cars and imports. However, one must take note, that to run an ad costs money and not everyone is willing to place their vehicle in the paper.
A second option, if you are looking to purchase locally, is to simply keep your ears and eyes open, maybe attend an auction, or even at garage sales! A vast majority of car owners will just post a sign in their back window or park their car in front of their house with a for sale sign. This works great too, if you happen to get lucky. The problem with this method is that it is very limited to the number of options you have and you are relying being at the right place,at the
 right time.

Another available option especially when looking to purchase a newer used car, with perhaps even a minimum warranty, is to attend car dealerships and pre-owned car dealerships. Both usually have a small selection of trade- in vehicles, or leased vehicles that have been previously used. This is a safer option for those of you who are seeking a bit of security on your investment. The one thing to keep in mind here is that again, you are probably going to end up paying a little bit more when purchasing from a lot.
So this brings me to my fourth, and what I think is the best option, when looking to purchase used cars for sale. With the power of the internet today, you are able to instantly access, a wide variety of sites, including listings from private and public sellers that offer information on used cars for sale. You can check and compare prices, lease options, location; sometimes straying a little ways away from home, can ultimately save you some big bucks! There are also a great number of resources online, magazines, classifieds, and more! One example to check out for sure is Autotrader.com; it allows you to compare makes, models, get the current value on most makes and models and allows you to search listings within a particular area.
Whichever method you choose, be sure to do your homework! Check out the motor and under the hood, the vehicles history, its gas mileage, try out the air conditioner, take it for a test drive, and most importantly, enjoy the ride!
